PAIRING CRAFT BEER WITH CURED MEAT

Charcuterie and beer make an unexpectedly harmonious pairing, offering a sensory experience that balances rich, savoury flavours with refreshing, effervescent contrast. The salty, fatty and umami notes found in cured meats like coppa and salami are beautifully offset by the carbonation and bitterness of many beer styles. A crisp pilsner, for. instance, can cut through the richness of fatty meats, cleansing the palate and allowing each bite to feel fresh. Similarly, a hoppy IPA complements spicier selections like our Wild Venison Chorizo.

The diverstiy of beer styles mirrors the variety of found on a well curated charcuterie boards. Tangy cheeses, briny olives, and pickled vegetables find their match with a malty amber ale, adding complexity without overwhelming the senses.

Stouts and porters, with their chocolate and coffee undertones can be excellent companions for smoked meat like our entire range of Wild Venison based cured meats, including our Wild Venison Beer Sticks.

MONKEY BREWHOUSE

Monkey Brewhouse is an independent brewpub and micro-brewery located in Lymington, Hampshire. Housed in an 18th century oak framed pub, it features a small (five barrel) brewing setup producing cask, keg and canned beer, all brewed on site and available served fresh in their taproom, and across local free-houses, and online.

Since opening around 2021, they’ve crafted over 30 unique beers, including pale ales, IPAs, bitters, porters and lagers. Our favourite is their Sea Wall (session IPA).

Their venue also offers food, making it not only a pub, but a locally rooted destination, brewing its own in-house beers, paired with good honest food and a welcoming hospitality experience.

SNACKING SALAMI

Salami makes a great snack because it if flavourful, satisfying, and incredibly convenient. Its rich, savoury taste comes from a careful balance of spices, salt, meat, and a technical curing process to deliver a depth of flavour in every bite. Thanks to its high protein content and ‘good fats’, salami offers long lasting energy, making it ideal for a quick pick-me-up between meals. Our entire range does not need to be refridgerated until opened, meaning it travels well. Versatile enough for a picnic, grazing on as you mingle at a party, or an easy go-to to reach for when on the go at home.
